18-year-old Hijab Model Wins Miss Nigeria 2021

The coronation Gala of the 44th Miss Nigeria beauty pageant took place on Friday, 17th December, where Shatu Garko, a hijab model who represented the Northern region was crowned MISS NIGERIA 2021. 

Indeed history has been made as Garko is the first hijab model to win The Miss Nigeria crown.

The 18-year-old hijab model bested 17 other beautiful contestants to win the coveted crown.
The new Miss Nigeria succeeded Queen Etsanyi Tukura, a native of Taraba State, 43rd winner of the 2019 Miss Nigeria contest. 


Nicole Ikot emerged as the first runner up and Kasarachi Okoro was the second runner up in the contest. 

“My whole life I have always wanted to be a Miss Nigeria. I’d like to thank Miss Nigeria and its sponsors. I would also like to thank my mum for supporting and loving me.” Garko said.

Shatu Garko was awarded the cash prize of N10 million, a luxury apartment, a car and ambassadorship.
